Procedures

below. A credit card number or advance payment may be required
to obtain a confirmed reservation. You may provide your
credit card information on the secure online form or by calling
the reservation line (212-243-5384) or by FAX (212-807-7473).
You will receive a confirmation letter via email once your reservation
has been confirmed. Please note the Policies
below, before committing to a reservation.
- If you would like to get some idea of room availability,

here - Check Availability. Please note that online availability
is updated approximately every hour and is not real time. If
the room that you want appears to be unavailable during the
dates you want it, please let us know and we will confirm whether
or not the online availability shown is accurate. If it appears
that your dates are sold out, request them anyway. We'll put
you on our waitlist and contact you should an opening occur.
- Minimum reservation of two (2) nights
weekdays and four (4) nights weekends may apply.
Some holiday or high-season periods may have a five-night requirement.
Minimum stay requirements may be reduced for reservations made
within one week of arrival. Please contact us regarding availability,
specific minimum stay requirements, and rates for exceptions
to the requirements. Stays of less than the minimum number of
nights (if available) are subject to higher rates.
- Reservations are guaranteed by the guest's valid
credit card. The total bill is payable upon arrival, (one month
in advance for holiday periods).
- Rooms are available for check-in by appointment after 2:00 pm. Should you wish to arrive earlier, we are happy to register you, check your bags, and provide you with keys to your room which will be ready for you after 2:00 pm. As we do not have a 24-hour desk and out of courtesy to our other guests, we ask that, whenever possible, all check-ins occur before 10:00 pm. All arrivals need to provide flight information or other arrival details in order to confirm arrival time. Check out time is 12:00 noon.
- Charge for extra person in room is $25 per night
in rooms that can accommodate a third person.
- Room assignments will not be changed without notification.
- All room rates are subject to a 13.625% + $3.50
per night state & local hotel tax.
- A refund, minus a $50 rebooking charge, for late
cancellation or early checkout will be given only if the room
is rebooked for the rest of the stay. Refund checks are processed
at the end of each month.

Policies
- Mature, quiet guests are preferred. We do everything we can
to preserve a tranquil atmosphere in our house. If you would
like to bring a child with you, please contact us. Children under 18 must be in rooms accompanied by a parent. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children five or under.
- Smoking is not allowed in the room. Evidence
of smoking in the room will result in an additional charge of
$250 plus one room night and applicable tax will be billed to
cover the additional cleaning for smoking in the room and loss
of revenue. No open flames of any kind, including lit cigarettes
or burning candles, are allowed in the building.
- No pets are allowed.
Cancellation and Payment Policy
Abingdon Guest House maintains a strict cancellation policy.
A $50 rebooking fee will be charged for all cancellations made during the accepted cancellation period (see below).
After the acceptable period, patrons canceling reservations will be charged the full room rate plus tax for up to four nights depending on the length of the reservation.
During regular periods, cancellations must be made at least seven days (one week) prior to check in.
During the holiday period of November 1, 2006 through January 2, 2007 we require 10 days prior notice of cancellation or penalties will apply.
Because of the uncertainty involved in filling rooms on short
notice, patrons canceling reservations after the acceptable period
will be charged the full room rate plus tax for up to four nights,
depending on the length of the reservation. We will, however,
credit patrons if we are able to re-let their rooms for the original
reservation period.
The credit card will be charged for the full amount of the
reserved stay upon arrival or scheduled arrival. Please be
courteous enough to inform us immediately of a cancellation
or change in plans.
Upon arrival, full payment will be accepted in cash (USD), traveler's
checks (USD), or credit card. If paying by personal check, the
check must arrive five business days prior to the guest's arrival.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express,
and Diners Club cards.
